Leader - Noun | | [ˈlēdər]
Anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and has the courage to develop that potential.
Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up.
Bravery takes courage. Luckily, although courage is often thought of as a personality trait, courage is an observable, measurable, and teachable skill! (Like Microsoft Excel but with fewer formulas!)
Join Marjo, Brene Brown Book Club Leader and Brene Brown Super-fan to learn the four foundational courage-building skill-sets that every leader needs in order to stay brave and stay in the arena!
“We can teach it, we can learn it, we can measure it, and we have to create cultures where being armored all the time is not rewarded behavior.”
-Brene Brown

Meet Marjo Morden. “A Thumb Kid” from Ubly, after graduating from Michigan Tech (Go Huskies!), Marjo started her first business, Oh for Pet Sakes, a behavioral dog training and pet services company outside of San Francisco. Still new to Bay County (she still hasn't seen a St. Patrick's Day Parade!), Marjo has helped paint murals, created a directory of LGBT-friendly organizations across Mid-Michigan, writes for Route Bay City, and sits on several boards and committees for local nonprofit organizations in Bay City.
Marjo is a lover of cats, books, and Brene Brown. She is currently leading a book club at City Office (where she is Community Manager) on "The Gifts of Imperfection".
Marjo is well-versed in the language of whole-heartedness, comfortable speaking about shame, and most admires people standing in the arena.
