The First Half of 2026: A Season of Growth, Connection, and Ownership

06/29/2026 2:31 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

As we look back on the first six months of 2026, one word rises to the surface again and again: ownership.

At Women In Leadership Great Lakes Bay Region, this year began with a powerful reminder that every woman carries a story worth telling. In January, Tell Me Your Story invited members and guests to reflect on the experiences, lessons, challenges, and turning points that shape who we are as leaders. It set the tone for a year rooted in authenticity, courage, and meaningful connection.

From there, WIL continued to create space for women to show up fully—professionally, personally, and in community. Our January Networking Session gave members the opportunity to begin the year by building relationships, sharing goals, and stepping into new conversations. February brought even more momentum with the WIL Headshot Special, helping women feel confident and prepared in how they present themselves to the world. Later that month, RISE 2026: Create Your Life Revolution by Awakening Your Inner Heroine! challenged us to think bigger about who we are becoming and what it means to lead from within.

March asked us to pause and pay attention to the whole woman behind the leadership role. Growing Beyond Survival Mode: Leading with Your Full Intelligence reminded us that leadership is not about pushing through at all costs. It is about learning to listen to ourselves, use our wisdom, and lead with strength, clarity, and balance. The March Networking event continued that theme by giving women a relaxed and welcoming space to connect, collaborate, and support one another.

In April, WIL turned its attention toward community impact with Owning Growth in Community Health. This conversation helped us explore the ways women influence wellness, access, advocacy, and care across the Great Lakes Bay Region. Our April Networking event carried that energy forward, strengthening the relationships that make this organization so special.

May was a month of voice and confidence. Own Your Conversation encouraged women to speak with clarity, intention, and purpose. Whether in business, leadership, family, or community spaces, the ability to communicate well is one of the most powerful tools a woman can develop. WIL also welcomed new members through New Member Orientation and continued building connection during May Networking.

June brought us into the digital world with Own Your Social Presence, a timely reminder that our online presence is more than a highlight reel. It is part of our voice, our brand, and our opportunity to make an impact. The month closed with June Networking, giving members yet another chance to gather, exchange ideas, and deepen relationships.

Through every luncheon, networking session, orientation, and special event, the first half of 2026 has reflected the heart of WIL: inspire, empower, connect. We have celebrated stories, strengthened confidence, expanded conversations, and continued cultivating a community where women are encouraged to grow personally and professionally.

And the year is only halfway through.

As we move into the second half of 2026, we carry forward the energy, wisdom, and momentum built together. There is more to learn, more to share, and more room for each woman to rise.
